Summer Reading Assignments

Please complete your Summer Reading so that you will be prepared for the first few weeks of the 2016-2017 school year!

Dear Honors/AP/DE Students:

The following list of books/plays is required summer reading for all WFHS Honors/AP/DE English students this year. Students are only required to read the assigned text(s) for their specific grade level.

WFHS Summer Reading Instructions

Honors English I

English II Honors

English III AP

English IV AP

DE Summer Assignment

Rising freshmen and sophomores must choose one book from the lists provided. Rising juniors and seniors in either AP class must read both selections.

A graded assessment will be given by your English teacher at the beginning of the school year. The assessment could be in the form of a test or a written response and will cover the content of the assigned selections.

These selections can be found at your local bookstores or libraries. We will be contacting Barnes and Nobles and Books-a-Million, as well as local used bookstores, to make sure that materials can be readily available.

Please remember that you can get with other classmates to share copies, or you may visit the public library. These selections have been chosen carefully for both literary merit and age-level appropriateness.

If you have a concern over the content of any of the selections, please contact the appropriate person below. If necessary, an alternate may be assigned.

Happy Summer Reading!
