Cross Country

UPdate as of 11/7/2016

The West Florida Cross Country season came to an end Saturday with the girls finishing 23rd and the boys finishing 18th at the State Championship.

The girls were led by Mallory Mott and Skylar Grantt, while the boys were led by Von Littlejohn and Lord Wyrick.

While almost everyone on the team ran very close to their best performances, we need to give a special recognition to Rory Carmody and Chase Desposito who set new personal 5k records, a great way to end the season!

The best news of all is that they all come back next season!

Update as of 11/1/2016

Both teams pulled off an impressive upset last Friday to qualify for the State Championship!

Boys who were ranked 8th, finished 6th to grab the final spot by just 6 points, and girls, who have been a little banged up, were able to hang on and also finish 6th by just 14 points.

So both came down to the wire and well deserved by these young teams!

Thanks for all your support throughout the season!

Our varsity teams will be leaving Friday for STATE!

Update as of 10/8/2016

The teams completed their regular season on Saturday at the Foley Invitational.

Boys won their second straight meet beating 12 teams this week after beating 18 teams last week.  They were led by Von Littlejohn who broke the 17 minute barrier for the first time this year and won the race.  This was his second race win of the season.  He was followed by Lord Wyrick, Ian Rahn, Phillip Gindl, Rory Carmody, Griffen Davidson and Spencer St. Cyr.  The boys finish the year with a 69 to 10 win/loss record.

Girls Finished as runner-ups behind a strong Daphne team.  Considering we sat out two of our top girls Maria Areola and Kaitlyn Roberts, I am very pleased with their finish.  They were led by Skylar Grant and Mallory Mott.  Following our two leaders was Robin Marvel, Alana Gaynor, Isabel Holland and Mackenzie Desposito.  The girls finish the year with a  54 to 7 win/loss record.

Both teams finished as the areas best, defeating all other teams in both Escambia and Santa Rosa County throughout the regular season.

Next week they will take the weekend off from racing to prepare for the upcoming district championship that will be held at Simms Middle School in Pace on Saturday October 22nd.
