Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society with over 88,000 student members by June each school year in more than 1,800 schools. We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.

 
OFFICERS:

President- Prepares meeting agendas, runs afternoon meetings, attends all of the club activities, and works closely with the club sponsor to organize the club schedule and other club events.

Vice President – Runs all morning meetings, assists the president with any meeting handouts, and attends all of the club activities.

Secretary – Takes notes at all of the meetings, attends club activities, and prepares other informational club handouts.

Historian- Documents the club events, and prepares a scrapbook for the club.  

Treasurer- Attends club activities, assists the sponsor in fundraising activities, collects club dues/membership fees.
 
CLUB ACTIVITIES:
 
Members of Mu Alpha Theta participate in regional math competitions. These competitions serve as an opportunity for the students to be challenged, and to become stronger “mathletes”.  Mu Alpha Theta members also participate in community service projects and tutoring other students in math.
