Your West Florida Jaguars Varsity Softball Team Defeated Gulf Breeze in a Low-Scoring Affair Tuesday night.  Both teams were strong on the mound Tuesday, but the Jaguars defeated Gulf Breeze 3-2.  West Florida pitchers allowed just six hits to Gulf Breeze.

 

 Gulf Breeze got things moving in the first inning when they tripled on an 0-1 count scoring one run.  West Florida pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning when Mackenzee McBride singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  

 

Jade Halfacre earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Jaguars allowing six hits, striking out two, and giving up two runs over five and a third innings.  Jeya Prasad threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.  

 

McBride, Prasad, Amanda Klemm, and Kiauna Watson each collected a hit for West Florida.  Watson led the Jaguars with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.  

 

West Florida didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Our Lady Jags Varsity Softball team spent the weekend at Panama City Beach playing in the USA Softball Challenge.  They won their first two games Friday night beating FSU High 14-0 and also beating Bay High 18-1.  On Saturday, they lost two very close games losing to Sneads 2-0 and losing to Belleview 3-1.  They fought very hard in every game.  At this point, they are 4-0 in district play and 8-2 overall.  

 


Their next game is a home game as they will host Gulf Breeze on Tuesday.  The JV game begins at 5 and the Varsity game begins at 7.  This is Senior night for our Lady Jags.  If you aren't doing anything, come out and support your Jags.

Update as of 3/1/2018

Our Lady Jags Varsity Softball Team defeated Choctawhachee Tuesday night with a final score of 10-0.  Jeya Prasad didn’t allow a single hit as she threw a no-hitter.  West Florida notched five runs in the 2nd inning and five runs in the 4th inning.  The fourth inning rally was led by singles by Kenzi Wiley and Jade Halfacre, an error on a ball in play by Mckinzi Kent, and a double by Mackenzee McBride.  West Florida finished the game will a total of 12 hits with Halfacre, Wiley, and Amanda Klemm all managing multiple hits for West Florida.  West Florida didn’t commit a single error.  Prasad was credited with the victory for the Jags allowing zero hits, zero runs, striking out ten and walking one over five innings.  Schultz took the loss for Choctawhatchee allowing 12 hits and ten runs, striking out four, and walking one over four innings.

Our next game is tonight as the Varsity will host PHS.  The varsity game begins at 5:00.

Our Varsity softball team beat Escambia last Friday night with a final score of 12-0.  

 

Jeya Prasad got the win Friday for West Florida, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out 11, and walking two.  

 

Kiauna Watson led the Jaguars to victory by driving in four runs going 2-for 2 at the plate with a triple in the first and a triple in the fourth.  

 

The Jaguars got things moving in the first inning, when Amanda Klemm doubled on a 1-2 count driving in two runs.  West Florida tallied eight hits on the day.  

 

Watson and Klemm each collected two hits for the Jaguars.  

 

West Florida stole seven bases as two players stole more than one. 

 

Today, our Lady Jags will host Pace High School.  The JV game begins at 5 and the Varsity game begins at 7.

 

Tomorrow, our Lady Jags will host Fort Walton, which is a district rival.  The JV game begins at 5 and the Varsity game begins at 7.

Then on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, our Lady Jags will host their annual JV Jag Showdown Tournament.  9 other schools will be on campus competing in this tournament.  Our JV Lady Jags will play Thursday at 7pm against Ft Walton, Saturday at 8am against Pace, and Saturday night at 8pm against Washington.
